Event Title:  50 Years of Service – Paving the Way to the Future Conference

Date:  July 23 – 25, 2017

Location:  Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch

Description:  AzTAP’s parent organization, the Institute for Human Development (IHD) at Northern Arizona University is celebrating 50 years of accomplishments in disability related education, research, practice and community service. In recognition of this “golden” anniversary and its legacy of providing access to best practices in disability disciplines, IHD is sponsoring an educational mega event, “50 Years of Service – Paving the Way to the Future”, (Click on the titles below to see a listing of the presentations in each track.). 60+ breakout sessions will be offered across all three content area tracks. Attendees must register for a primary content area, but can attend any session of interest. American Indian Vocational Rehabilitation and Evidence Based Practice in Disability Disciplines, – Assistive Technology combining its project area conferences into a single conference with three distinct content area tracts. The AT track includes:

  • 2 full day preconference workshops conducted (respectively) by Diana Petschauer and Lisa Rotelli
  • Dynamic Opening and Closing Speakers (Dave Edyburn and Jamie Goldman Marseilles)
  • 41+  AT breakout sessions covering a broad range of assistive technology topics
  • AT Expertise from experienced presenters
  • (Open to the community free of charge, Monday afternoon only, July 24 from 1:30 – 6:00 p.m.)Expansive Exhibit Hall
  • Free raffle tickets for our door prize drawings

Event Title:  Assistive Technology Summit 2017

Date:  September 19, 2017, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

Location:  The Conference Center at Mercer Community College

Description:  Join consumers and professionals for a day of learning and sharing about all areas of Assistive Technology.  The keynote speaker for this one-day conference is Bill Binko from  Other topics include AT Supports for the Classroom, workplace accommodations, transition services / strategies, Augmentative and Alternative Communication, Smart home technology / Internet of Things

Event Title:  2017 TechAccessOK

 Date:  October 16-17, 2017

Location: Reed Conference Center in Midwest City, Oklahoma, just minutes away from Will Rogers World Airport.

Call for Proposals is open until June 30, 2017

Description:  An accessible web is a critical part of making sure that people with disabilities can participate fully and equally in all phases of life. Technology touches all phases of our daily life, education and employment. TechAccessOK brings together local, national and international experts to talk and learn about making the web more accessible to people with disabilities. Presentations will take place during the afternoon of October 17th and will focus on two different areas: Accessibility in Design and Content, and Accessibility Law and Policy. Conference attendees will be able to choose which sessions they will participate in, but will not have to stay in one track.

State:  North Carolina (Wilmington, NC)

Event Title:  2017 Global Rehabilitation Enhanced with Assistive Technology (GREAT) Conference

Date:  October 18-20, 2017

Location: Hilton Wilmington Riverside

Description:  The Global Rehabilitation Enhanced with Assistive Technology or GREAT training conference is a collaboration between the North Carolina Rehabilitation Association and the North Carolina Assistive Technology Program. We are hosting SERNRA this year and will have participants from an eight state region. We plan a special outreach to veterans with disabilities in North Carolina and the region. Throughout the training track focus areas listed below, we will weave rehabilitation, assistive technology, and specific disability topics. The 2 ½ day conference will include 2 pre-conference, 2 general, over 30 concurrent sessions. There will be a poster session and a one day, free and open to the public Exhibit Hall of Assistive Technology.

Event Title: Assistive Technology Conference of New England

Date: November 30 – December 1, 2017

Location: Crown Plaza, Warwick, RI

Description: The Assistive Technology Conference of New England, hosted by TeachACCESS of Rhode Island, is dedicated to technology, people with disabilities, families and professionals. This year's two day program offers 10 full day pre-conference workshops and 33 breakout sessions, as well as vendors and The Bringing Access to Life Expo.
