Event: IHD Evidence for Success Disability Conference

Description: For 20 years, the Arizona Technology Access Program (AzTAP) has hosted an annual summer Assistive Technology conference. In 2017, AzTAP’s parent organization, the Institute for Human Development (IHD) at Northern Arizona University merged this conference with its successful, annual Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) in Disability Disciplines conference and another of its focus areas, American Indian Vocational Rehabilitation and Technical Assistance Center (AIVRTTAC). Now in its third year, this combined educational mega event - the IHD Evidence for Success Disability Conference - is one of the premier disability-focused conferences in Arizona. The conference features over 65 educational sessions, draws almost 600 participants annually, and includes a vibrant exhibit hall with over 50 exhibitors including man of the best known AT provider and disability-related service organizations. Emphasis is placed on ensuring the conference provides an enjoyable learning environment, offering opportunities for both formal learning and informal networking, at one of Arizona’s luxury resorts – all at a very reasonable price!

Don’t miss out on MonTECH’s first conference devoted entirely to augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)!  Join us for a day of learning with a nationally recognized AAC expert on August 5th, 9:00-5:00, at the Holiday Inn Missoula Downtown.  Educators, direct support staff, family members, therapists, and other professionals are all welcome to come learn about technology for complex communication needs.  Following a day of learning and sharing, stay to network and enjoy an evening at Montgomery Distillery, in the heart of Missoula’s hip downtown.  A percentage of proceeds will be donated to our next AAC conference, as MonTECH is committed to providing future AAC education opportunities.

The Assistive Technology Conference of New England is dedicated to technology, people with disabilities, families and professionals. Since 1988, Rhode Island’s annual conference on assistive technology has offered state-of-the-art workshops, information and exhibits on the technologies that enhance and change the lives of persons with disabilities of all ages. Attended each year by hundreds from Rhode Island, New England, and beyond, the conference focuses on uses of technology in education, communication, employment, recreation, home, and independent living. The conference also features the Bringing Access to Life Expo, which offers conference attendees an opportunity to and purchase products created by our guests, and learn about services, opportunities and resources available to people with disabilities in RI and the northeast.
